Iowa Learning Online (ILO), the Iowa Department of Education’s initiative to expand high-quality online learning opportunities, will be available for the 2019-20 school year. After that, districts will either need to create their own online classes or work with a third-party vendor. ILO will no longer directly provide courses after the 2019-20 school year because there is no long-term, sustainable funding source for operating the program.
Iowa Learning Online is now accepting enrollments for the Spring 2020 semester. The first cohort begins January 2nd. To better meet individual student needs and diverse schedules of Iowa schools, ILO will offer two separate cohorts during the term offset by two weeks.
Many families in Iowa choose to educate their children at home for a variety of reasons.
ILO’s world language curriculum is both rigorous and engaging and sets a solid framework for students beginning or continuing the study of another language.
Did you know that Latin, while no longer a native language of any country, developed into many contemporary languages, and its roots are commonly used in theology, biology, science, medicine and law? ILO is proud to offer Iowa high school students the opportunity to study this classic language.
