Description
This course will identify and trace the history and development of major social policies and programs that affect older persons, especially in the area of health care. The course will take a broad view and examine the physical aging process, particulary as it relates to psychological and sociological age changes. Attitudes toward aging and the impact that the increasing number of elderly have on society will be examined. In addition, the course will focus on individuals and organizations that play a role in development and implementing policies involving senior citizens. The course will provide a broad background for those working with older adults.
