Instructor Gail Wortmann

Gail Wortmann graduated summa cum laude from Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, with a B.S. degree in Biology. She also holds two M.A. degrees - one in Science Education from Northeast Missouri State University (now Truman State) in Kirksville, Missouri, and a second Educational Administration degree from Iowa State University. Her Iowa certifications include General Science, Physical Science, Biology, and Chemistry. She has 32 years of teaching experience in the areas of Biology, Earth and Environmental Science, Physical Science, Anatomy and Physiology, and Contemporary Science. Among Ms. Wortmann’s many awards are the Milken Educator Award, Iowa’s Teacher of the Year Award, the National Association of Biology Teachers Outstanding Biology Teaching Award, and the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science and Mathematics. In her leisure time, Ms. Wortmann enjoys community theatre, politics and community activities.

Gail Wortmann teaches Anatomy and Physiology for Iowa Learning Online.
